Group Music Therapy
This vital year-round program employs evidence-based, small-group workshops to cultivate therapeutic outcomes and foster a supportive community environment. These workshops, conducted within secure and confidential settings, facilitate healing and interpersonal connection among survivors experiencing acute crises.
•
Group size: 3-6 participants
•
Duration: 8-week music therapy series facilitated by board-certified music therapists
Participants engage in guided communication and exploration of self-expression through active and appropriate musical interventions. Music therapists design targeted interventions to address specific group goals, which are objectively measured through a combination of client self-report and documented behavioral observations. Program efficacy is further assessed through post-workshop evaluations, enabling continuous monitoring of participant progress.
“Clients participated in ways that felt comfortable to them; for example, they were able to share lyrics that spoke to them and link these lyrics to emotions. They were able to learn about and utilize different instruments that The Angel Band Project provided. They were able to explore ways they benefit from music in their own lives. Music can be transformational for survivors of trauma, and we are looking forward to continuing working with The Angel Band Project in the future.”
